Joe Satriani live at the Hellfest

 In News

The Surfing to Shockwave tour 2016 started yesterday in Clisson in France, at the most important metal festival of the country, the Hellfest festival!  Joe did a show of 55 minutes among not less than 174 bands, like Rammstein, Korn, The Offspring, Black Sabbath or Testament.

The European tour 2016

The usual Mike Keneally, Marco Minnemann and Bryan Beller are still touring with Joe, bringing since 2013 their own talents to the show. They will perform in a lot of european countries for the summer 2016. Ireland, Netherland, Belgium, Luxemburg, Danemark, Norway, Switzerland, Italia, Spain, Germany and France again, where he will celebrate his 60th birthday on 15th July, and the Joe Satriani Universe team will be partners of the event.

The Ibanez JS guitars

Joe is using a couple interesting Ibanez JS guitars for the Surfing to Shockwave tour. First of all, he kicks in the show with a beautiful JS25ART he designed himself, tuned in Db/Ab/Db/Gb/Bb/Eb. Then he brings back the first JS2410 prototype which has those MCO racing stripes, a chromed Di Marzio Mo’Joe pickup on the bridge and a Sustainiac on the neck pickup.

Next, a JS2410 with a regular painting, a JS2450 with an orange Mo’Joe, both with a Sustainiac neck pickup. At the end of the show, Joe played Satch Boogie and Surfing With The Alien with a JS20S.
