JS 1200
Ibanez JS1200 Story
The JS1200 was introduced in 2004. It is very similar to the JS1000 but has some differences with it. Joe has been working for many years with Larry DiMarzio for an evolution of the PAF Pro pickup. Then comes the PAF Joe with more treble and a little bit less bass frequencies, along with the FRED that features on JS guitars since the very first JS1. Of course the other feature is the red color! Satch came up with this tasteful and flashy CA Candy Apple.
The original bridge was the Edge Pro but in 2010 Satch decided to put an original Edge on it, because it turned out to be his favourite tremolo system. Joe has been using this guitar for about six years on tour and in studio, with sometimes some experimental features like for the Wormhole Tour in 2010 where ha added a Sustainiac humucker pickup istead of the PAF Joe as we can see in the Satchurated CD/DVD.
Like his chrome guitars, the Ibanez JS1200 became a very specific and emblematic guitar from the period between its release to the introduction of the 24 frets guitars like the JS2400 and the JS24P, the JS1200 is now an important chapter of the Joe Satriani history.
