Joe Satriani reveals the JSA20 and JSA5 guitars
Joe Satriani introduces his two brand new acoustic guitars from the Ibanez factories, the JSA20 and the JSA5. Those two new models are inspired by the JSA that Joe bringed on the Wormhole Tour and that we saw on Satchurated.

The neck and the frets of those two Ibanez signature guitars has been designed to reproduce the sensations you have when you play an alectric guitar, that involves a thin neck and a good access to the high notes.
The aim is to allow the natural transition from an electric to an acoustic guitar… perfect for an acoustic session in a gig!
The JSA20 will be equipped by a Fishman™ Acoustic Matrix® pickup by the Fishman® Aura® Pro preamp (including the Joe Satriani presets), and of course with a tunner.
On the JSA5 the electronic system is not the same, because we have the Fishman™ Sonicore pickup and the Fishman® Presys™ Preamp, with the tunner again.
The JSA20’s nut will be a TUSQ® Nut & Saddle, meanwhile his sister the JSA5 will have Ibanez Ivorex II™ Nut & Saddle, the resonnance will be a little bit different but the (Ibanez Advantage™ Bridge Pins) stay the same.
Why Satch has he chosen two different nuts, that’s juste because the guitars are made in two different woods and he has to find the better resonnance for each! On both guitars the neck is in mahogany and the top in spruce (Solid Englemann Spruce top), but the sidelong and back woods are different : the JSA20 has rosewood and the JSA5 mahogany, like his neck. And the last wood difference is the fingerboard : ebony for the JSA20 and rosewood for the JSA5.
About the decoration we have abalone rosettefor both models, and on JSA20 the body binding also are in abalone.

So, we have two signature guitar very different : woods, electronic systems and colors of course, the JSA20 Vintage Burst (VB) painted and the JSA5 will be Black (BK).
Joe kept the shape of the original JSA and that’s a good thing, the soul stays the same!
